Teaching & Masterclasses

Dr Joanna Sochacka is a piano professor, currently based in Hannover, Germany and teaching in the Piano Department of Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, Poland. Her students are laureates of international piano competitions.

President of the AGITATO Music Foundation which supports young, talented musicians, an Artistic Director of Arthur Rubinstein Piano Prize Competition in Łódź and AEGIO International Piano Competition – Europe, Jury Member at many International competitions including Saint Paul Trois Châteaux Competition in France, International Liszt Piano Competition in China, Austria and Utrecht. She provides regular masterclasses for Association Chinese Culture Music & Arts in China and Germany, BAMA International Piano Festival & Masterclasses in Canada, Pancho Vladygerov Music School in Burgas, Bulgaria, Masterclasses for El Sistema and Mozarteum in Venezuela, ,,Masters” Masterclasses for Associazione Auditorium in Puglia, Italy.

It’s not only about proper instruction—like developing good technique, maintaining healthy posture, avoiding tension or injury, understanding musical structure, and mastering style and sound—but also about offering broader mentorship.

I help my students plan their repertoire, prepare strategically for competitions, and navigate both artistic and personal challenges on their journey to becoming complete musicians.

Each student is unique and special, yet all of them need someone who believes in them and knows how to guide their development. Nurturing talent and building a career in music is simply not possible without the care and expertise of a devoted teacher.

Joanna Sochacka

Joanna studied with prof. Milana Chernyavska (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz, Austria, Reina Sofia School of Music, Madrid), prof. Fabrizio Chiovetta (Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva, Switzerland), prof. Hanna Holeksa (Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, Poland), prof. Andrzej Pikul (Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow, Poland). Besides she worked with such pedagogues as Dmitry Bashkirov, Paul Badura-Skoda, Kevin Kenner, Akiko Ebi, Dmitry Alexeev, Lilya Zilberstein, Dina Yoffe, Tatiana Zelikman, Jean Marc Luisada, Andrzej Jasiński, Anna Malikova, Jura Margulis and many others.
